Dr. Cheryl MacDonald has four ongoing projects
- Co-editing an edited volume on athlete safety and wellbeing with Martine Dennie (University of Manitoba) and MacIntosh Ross (Western University)
- A content analysis of mainstream media framing of the development of women's professional ice hockey with Daniel Sailofsky, Ève LeBlanc, Jon Edwards, and Calvin Nite
- A qualitative analysis of the creation of holistic support and development programming for Atlantic University Sport (AUS) athletes. This research will not be published as it is subject to the terms of privacy within the scope of her Master's degree at another institution.
- An analysis of First Nations athlete wellbeing and success during the transition to university sport and everyday life with Ryan Francis and Erin Denny

Dr. Brian Kennedy has several ongoing projects
One is a popular-level book of hockey facts. This will also feature interviews with former NHL players. I have to be a bit coy about the details because this is still in the submission phase via my agent to publishers.
I also have a full-length academic(ish) book on hockey that at present is called Nothing So Still: The Disruptive Power of Hockey. This is a collection of essays that reflect a cultural studies/literary analysis mode of inquiry. Topics range from borderlands studies through Freudian literary criticism to Bakhtinian interpretations of the cultural value and power of hockey.
In addition, I am set to work on a series of articles with a scholar I met through the Centre for the Study of Sport and Health, Dr. Rajani Mullerpatan, Professor-Director at the MGM Institute of Health Sciences in Navi Mumbai, India. These articles will focus on exercise physiology amongst undergraduate students in India and the US.
I also have two conference papers on the go. One is a study for the upcoming International MM Bakhtin conference in Russia, a paper which concerns itself with kinetic movement as a form of cultural identity. The other is a paper for the hockey conference at Saint Mary’s on how social media has created the modern experience of the hockey fan.
Dr. John Reid is currently working on a project on the history of cricket in Nova Scotia.
